Make sure your baby or toddler is in a structured routine well before you travel. This makes it far easier to ensure your baby doesn't get overtired and you always know what you need to do for baby, where ever you are or what ever you are doing! It's easy to forget to feed baby lunch while you are visiting Harrods or something else fabulous, so have a routine you know you need to stick to!

Travelling with a toddler and young child can be an adventure in itself! Maintaining a routine on holiday can be hard and many of the items you'll need will help to keep the routine going while you're away from home. A lot will be those items your child associates with sleep to make them feel comfortable and at ease in their holiday accomodation. Bring their sleeping bag if they have one and don't forget their comforter too.
Sleep trainer clocks with batteries are also a good for holidays as packing the transformer is one less thing to remember. If you're going to a different time zone or already use them don't forget to pack the blackout blinds. Lights Out black out blinds are a good travel friendly option or alternatively a Sweet Dreameezz blackout muslin is light weight and can be used as a sarong, shade cover or light blanket too - although it will let in a littlemore light than a dedicated blackout blind.
If your child is old enough to be in a big bed or at at the stage where they're transtitioning to one mattress protectors like the Brolly Sheets should be on your list. It is easy to fit to most holiday beds, if you're not sure of the size of the bed get the larger size Brolly Sheet so you know you'll have it covered. If they roll around the bed and you are worried about them falling out consider taking a SnugSheet or if you have space take a Big Bed bumper. Alternatively you could improvise with a pool noodle or rolled up towel if space is at a premium and some are available. Another must have is the b.box essential nappy wallet. The only diaper wallet with a built in wipes compartment and dual access to wipes.
