Fabric:

Gorgeous soft blend of 50% New Zealand Merino Wool & 50% cotton Blend. This is a heavier weight fabric than 100% merino and is suitable for year-round use as it so breathable.

It offers extremely good temperature regulation properties, which is just what you need with a newborn baby. Not quite as stretchy as 100% merino.
