How do you get your children to understand when it’s time to get up?

SIMPLE!! "stay in bed until you see the sun!"

The Gro-clock uses fun images of the stars and sun to communicate when to go back to sleep and when it’s time to get up.

Due to popular request, this 2010 version of the Gro-Clock has a new feature allowing parents to choose whether or not to display the digital clock during the usual ‘stars to sun’ countdown. So for older children, they can now start to learn digital time, as well as look for the arrival of the sun!

The Gro-clock also comes with a beautifully illustrated book which helps to encourage children to stay in bed longer, which means more sleep for them and more sleep for you! "No more getting up at 5am!".

It is this combination of the simple glowing images and the bedtime story book which has already made the Gro-Clock incredibly popular in the UK.

Features:
  • Glowing screen shows images of stars and sun to communicate ’sleep’ and ’wake-up’ time
  • Includes fun bedtime story book
  • Stars go out one-by-one during the night to show the passing of time
  • Key-lock option
  • Option to set two separate wake-up times (weekday/weekend or night-time/day-time nap)
  • Adjustable screen brightness
  • Silent operation
  • Optional audible alarm feature
  • Mains powered (NZ adapter included)
  • Suitable from age 2+ years
  • NEW Educational option of showing digital clock during the ‘stars to sun’ countdown

How is the gro clock different from cheaper clocks?
  • gro clockruns on mains power rather than batteries, so it never stops working when batteries fail..and there is no ongoing cost!
  • You can set different wake up times for the week & weekend
  • It comes complete with the bedtime story to reinforce the message about not getting up until the clock says it’s time.
  • Subtle glow which you can use as a nightlight (other clocks are battery operated and too greedy on power to leave on all night).
  • Made by the Gro Company, famous for their wonderful quality grobags!

Customer reviews:

I purchased the Gro clock sleep trainer. My son was getting up around 5.30 every morning. It took 5 days with us putting him back to bed saying "You can get up when the Sun comes up" before he got the idea and now he stays in bed until he sees the sun. He gets very excited about it. Great service from the Sleepstore. Thanks.

We love the Gro-clock – it has revolutionised our lives. I’m recommending it to anyone who’ll listen. Ella our two and half year old was regularly up before 6 – which became even more painful with the arrival of Tom, who was mostly up until 6! Ella now stays in bed till 7am and doesn’t call for us until the sun comes up – heaven! She is even happy to stay in bed if she hears me go and get Tom before 7am. Setting the clock has become a great part of our bedtime ritual. Ella calls it her special clock and is keen to show her friends when they come to play. It’s been really great for lunchtime sleeps too – even if she doesn’t go to sleep she will have quiet time in her cot until the sun comes up. My only suggestion would be to have a second book about lunchtime sleeping – as I, like most of my friends with a 2.5 year old, am very keen for her to continue having a daytime nap. Thanks from a well rested mummy! Charlotte Wightman, mum to Ella

“What a fantastic product! My daughter was actually a good sleeper before using the Gro-clock. I bought this product to help her realise when to wake me up, as it hadbeen varying with changing the clocks, and getting earlier and earlier. She now stays in bed (even if I can hear she is awake), and is actually quite unamused if I wake her earlier than the ’sunrise’. We are also awaiting the arrival of a baby brother, so here’s hoping with disturbed sleep she will stay in bed through that also. No doubt her brother will be inheriting the Gro-clock to continue the learning. All in all another genius invention from your company - absolutely 10/10! Claire Vickers, a happy mummy

“I love your Gro-clock! I had been searching the market on and off for about 2 years before coming across it. I now use it with my daughter, aged 3 yrs 9 month, your clock is brilliant and I’m grateful for it every day. The instructions were easy to understand, as are the controls on the actual clock. We only use the night-time setting as my daughter does not nap anymore. (Sigh) She loves the animation of watching the sunset.” Catherine Parris, mum to 3 year old girl

“My little boy is about to turn 3 and as he was getting older his mornings were getting earlier. Where blacking out his room had previously worked, it was having nil effect anymore. It has taken time but he is really into the clock now. I am slowly moving it from 6.30am towards 7am, but it is working beautifully (hope I’m not jinxing myself now!) and each morning I get "Mummy the sun has come up - you want to come and see?" We love it! The instructions were lovely and simple.” Jacqui Pearson, mum to 3 year old boy

“Alice immediately understood the story of her ’special clock’ and for the past 8 days she has stayed in bed till after the sun appears at 06:45! Hooray! She understood the concept very quickly. It has only been 8 days so it is a little early to tell, but the clock at the moment is doing exactlywhat it promises, and helping to create a much happier child (and parents).
Long may it last!” Melanie, mum to Alice

“The Gro-clock is ace! Alfie is a 22mth little monkey who did wake at the crack of dawn! When I saw the clock in the catalogue I thought ’I’m having one of those". The book is lovely and Alfie really enjoyed using it at the start. He now knows that when it’s ’moon’ it’s sleep time and when it’s ’sun’ its wake up time! The other night he woke at 3am - I sent him back to bed and showed him the moon. He lay down and went back to seep – it’s FAB! Nic, mum to 2 year old Alfie

“The clock works a treat. We found it easy to use and set up. We had tried (in vain) another clock (sleeping bunny) but no success. The transition to Gro-clock has brought instant results and our 3 year old has taken to it like a duck to water. She was previously waking at 5- 05:30am and coming in our room. Now we set it to 6.30am weekday and we don’t see her appear until the "sun is up" (which she says with great glee!) A great design on your part and a great purchase on ours". Martin, dad to 3 year old girl

“The Gro-clock is fab thanks. The set up was easy. My son loves reading the story and he has to press the button every night for the sun to go to sleep. He does wait for the sun in the morning before shouting for us. I have recommended it to others. Thank you”. Sarah Henderson, has a son

“I think the Gro clock is great to be honest! I like the fact that the transition from night to day is silent with no mechanical switches so on the odd occasion my 2 year old slept in it wouldn’t wake her. Izzy loves the book, makes a lovely night-time routine. She now goes looking for ’Izzy clock’ when she knows its bedtimeand then hands me the ’clock book’. I love the product though and will recommend it to friends". Sarah Hewitt, mum to 2 year old girl

“Thank you for inventing the fabulous Gro-clock. Mollie stays in bed till the ’good morning sunshine’; and has even told us that she has woken up “with only one star so I knew the red moon would soon tell me it was nearly good morning and then all I have to do is wait for the good morning sunshine”, (so she has quickly grasped the process!). She stayed in bed from the first morning, and we set the clock an hour after her usual wake up time (set for 7am and she would be up for 6am at the latest). She is much less confused about when it is time to get up. Once again thank you". Vikki Chester-Walsh, mum to 4 year old Mollie

“I’m really pleased with the clock, the instructions were easy to understand and my 3 year old can already pretty much set it off by himself!” Carrie, mum to 3 year old boy

“We’ve been very pleased with the Gro-clock - it has been brilliant…and it works! It’s easy to use, has clear instructions, and a lovely design with colours on the display screen. It’s such fun in the mornings - my 4 year old is so delighted when Mr Sunshine appears....and that’s part of the clever design/concept because Henry would now never dream of missing this exciting start to the day. It is a super invention and we like it very much". Janet Underhill, mum to 4 year old Henry
