Behind the Design – Ō Whakatō
Whakatō means to plant, to cause to conceive, to fertilise.
The Ō Whakatō design represents the journey from planting a seed through to harvesting from the māra, moana and awa. It also reflects the journey of conceiving, birth and the growth of tamariki mokopuna within Te Ao Māori.
Designed in Aotearoa by toi Māori artist Cy McLeod (Uhi Wero) and made with care in China.
Size: 130cm diameter.
