SnoozeShade Buggy Blackout Shades are a total game-changer for helping your baby nap when you are out and about. The mesh on the Plus Extra is fully air=permable yet blocks an amazing 94% of light, helping your baby sleep where ever you are.

And in New Zealand's very harsh sunlight, you'll have piece of mind your sleeping baby is protected with the 99% UV protection this model provides. When your little one finally awakes, simply open the front window panel to allow them full view of their surroundings while still protecting them of 80% of UV rays!

SnoozeShade creates a comfortingly dark space that encourages naps by boosting melatonin (the sleepy hormone). When your baby naturally stirs at the end of their sleep cycle, the unique fabric prevents them from latching on to visual stimuli that may stop them getting the deeper, longer nap they need. Use it in snooze mode or shade mode – both provide UV protection.

What is the shade mode?

SnoozeShade Plus Extra can be used in shade mode to shield your child from up to 80% of UV rays while allowing them to see out.

Simply zip up the inner window – a single panel of our unique mesh – to protect from sun, wind, light rain and insects.
The shade panel has two zips, so you can leave it partially or fully open or close it completely for maximum protection.

What is the snooze mode?

When it’s time for a buggy nap, convert SnoozeShade Plus Extra to snooze mode by zipping up the shade panel and securing the outer snooze panel (an extra layer of mesh) using our baby-safe poppers.
This creates a sleep-friendly environment that blurs distractions, shuts out 94% of light and blocks 99% of UV rays (UPF 50+).

With quickly and easy assembly, the Snoozeshade Plus Extra will fit to any single-width pushchair or stroller with a hood. The air-permeable mesh fabric allowing air to flow freely, great for ventilation!

With additional length, it is double the size of the Original Snooze Shade providing extra shade for longer toddler legs and is perfect for the more curious toddler. The size of this model is the same as the grey 'Plyus Deluxe' model.

if you are choosing between this Plus Extra and the Plus Deluxe model, they are same apart from these 2 features:

How does SnoozeShade Plus Extra work?

A sleeping-baby emblem deters people from disturbing your child, while the sneak-a-peek zip lets you check on them without letting in too much light. When the snooze and/or shade panels are not in use, simply roll them up and store them in the integrated front pocket to stop them snagging on your wheels.

Will SnoozeShade Plus Extra help my child nap?

When in snooze mode, SnoozeShade acts like a portable blackout blind to create a sleep-friendly space.
It’s recommended by baby-sleep experts worldwide, because when used regularly it becomes a sleep cue for your child, helping them learn when it’s naptime in the same way shutting the curtains at home does.

What age is it for?

We recommend SnoozeShade Plus Extra for babies and toddlers who are seated in the stroller seat, because it’s proportioned to fit around a child who is sitting up and wanting to see out.
We say from around 6 months but it's just a guide - the most important thing is baby's seating position.
If you’re looking for a SnoozeShade for a baby who's in a carrycot, SnoozeShade Original will be a better fit.
You can continue using your SnoozeShade Plus Extra as long as your child is in their pushchair. Our founder, Cara, still used her Plus Deluxe occasionally for the odd holiday, airport or airplane trip until her daughter was five years old!

Is it machine washable?

Of course – it was invented by a mum!
All SnoozeShade products are machine washable at 30° and can be tumble dried on a low heat.

Before washing or storing your SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe, be sure to close all zips and attach the Velcro straps to each other to prevent damage to the fabric.
Do not iron.

Before you dive into the demo videos, please read our top tips on fitting your SnoozeShade Plus Extra :

1. You don’t need to use ALL the straps, only as many as work for you and your pushchair. There are eight pairs of short straps on the SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe, because this is safer option than having fewer, longer straps which could pose a strangulation or entrapment risk. You may only need to use one or two pairs of straps, other prams might need all eight to get a secure fit. Have a play and, if you get stuck, then get in touch (Instagram or Facebook are easiest) with photos and we can help.2. Don't have the hood pulled fully forward or push it fully back: Pull the hood of your pram or pushchair forward at least halfway before attaching the top straps. Your SnoozeShade Plus Deluxe will then sit lower at the front and will be easier to attach at the bottom. 3. The straps don’t have to be attached to the frame of your pram or pushchair. You can attach them to each other through any gap you find – hood hinges are ideal. You can also attach the straps to each other around the back of (or under) the carrycot or seat. Remember you might not need to use all the straps, and it’s fine to stretch them as needed. Safety advice

The following information will help ensure you use your SnoozeShade Plus Extra safely. Please read it carefully:

SnoozeShade was invented by a British mum, Cara Sayer, who needed a solution to help her baby daughter sleep soundly in her pram. Our scientifically tested fabric is free from chemicals and completely air permeable (which means air passes through it freely), and all our products are designed to exceed UK, European and US standards. Every component is safe enough for a newborn, including our zips and straps.

Whether you’re using SnoozeShade indoors or outdoors, please check regularly that your baby is well hydrated and comfortable. Our sneak-a-peek zip allows you to quickly check on your little one without disturbing their nap.

Children should not be left unattended in a pram or stroller at any time and should always wear a correctly fitted harness where appropriate.
When stationary, even indoors, turn the front of your pram or stroller away from direct sun. Always seek shade wherever possible.
UV rays (including reflected UV rays) will enter the pram or stroller through any open area not covered by SnoozeShade. UV rays are reflected by water, concrete, snow, sand and other surfaces.
Doctors worldwide state that babies under six months must be kept completely out of direct sunlight.
General sun-safety guidance from around the world suggests keeping a child of any age out of direct sun between 11am and 4pm.
Check local advice on keeping babies and small children safe in the sun and hot conditions. Advice may vary in different countries.
SnoozeShade, like any shade product, should always be used with other recommended forms of sun protection such as sun lotion, hats, sunglasses and protective clothing.
It’s not advisable to use SnoozeShade in strong winds or heavy rain.
This product cannot replace responsible adult supervision to prevent sunburn, overheating or dehydration.
