The Sleep Store Jersey Merino Kimono Cardigan is a beautifully simple layer for your bub, designed with comfort, practicality, and softness in mind. Made from 100% New Zealand merino wool in a smooth single jersey knit, this cardigan feels lightweight and gentle against delicate skin while still providing natural warmth.

Merino is loved for its ability to regulate temperature, helping keep babies cosy without overheating. The fine single jersey knit gives this cardigan a soft, tee shirt-like feel with a comfortable stretch, making it ideal for layering through changing seasons. It’s warm enough for cooler days, yet breathable enough for indoor wear.

The kimono-style wrap design makes dressing newborns and young babies easier, especially in those early months when you’d rather avoid pulling garments over little heads. It fastens neatly at the side with one press stud, keeping the cardigan securely in place while maintaining a clean, simple look. This thoughtful design makes changes quicker and more comfortable for both baby and parent.

Care:

Gentle machine or hand wash in cold or 30°C water with a liquid wool wash
Dry immediately — lay flat or hang dry
You may notice some pilling with wear. This is normal for soft merino fibres rubbing against other fabrics (such as flannelette sheets) and is considered normal wear and tear
Protect your merino from moths and silverfish — always store clean garments, and use lavender or cedarwood as a deterrent
